The second queen of flowers after the rose. The orchid symbolises flawless beauty, delight and refinement.

However, the orchid comes from the Greek word “orchis”, meaning testicle. This denomination is attributed to the philosopher and botanist Theophrastus and is used in reference to the shape of subterranean tubers.

Although paradoxically bearing the name of a part of the male genitalia, the orchid symbolises the woman or the idealised female genitalia. It is for this reason that it also symbolises androgyny, the mythical ancestor of humanity and the combination of female and male strengths. It is a union of the heavens and the earth.

Composition : Orchidée Phalaenopsis, Branche de Polygonum, Mousse boule, Guirlandes Tillandsia Usneoides, Contenant Penja

Size : 90x30 cm

Your orchid is wrapped in tissue paper to safeguard the delicate petals. It is then covered in thick, high-quality paper to protect it during transit. The colour of the wrapping complements that of the flowers and brings out the beauty of the bouquet.

We finish the bouquet with a ribbon and a pearl head pin.

The message to accompany your bouquet is handwritten with a quill on a luxury card.

Orchids are substantially more sensible to light and temperature conditions than other plants.

In regards of light, an exposure near a window facing east or west should be favored. Avoid windows with a heater situated below, since in winter the warm air would dry the plant out. Orchids require a regular air renewal that is very appreciated by their aerial roots.

However, above all they should not be exposed to cold airstream. You can slightly open the window on a mild day though.

Regarding watering, orchids like lukewarm poured water (30°C=86°F), provided that watering is abundant and of short duration such as a tropical rain, once or twice a week. The higher the room temperature, the more water evaporates quickly, so it is important to add water more often. Water from above to ensure that the substrate is well soaked, from top to bottom. There should particularly not be any water at the bottom of the plantpot holder. So think to drain well your orchids prior to put it back into its plantpot holder. If leaves turn yellow or wilt, it means you have sprinkled too much.
